After performing the last 5 years together on 3 Harold teams, Nancy FriedRICH and Scot GoodHART have put their oddball chemistry into the two person improvised show, rich with hart. With an audience's suggestion of a significant moment in two peoples’ lives, rich with hart leaps right into a richly detailed performance full of lovable, despicable, intelligent, unforgiving characters who are all coming straight from the heart.

Here's a quote from a current iO teacher:

"Nancy Friedrich and Scot Goodhart have been generous enough to give us rich with hart, a perfect example of my favorite kind of improv - believable and fascinating characters, strong relationships, simplicity and honesty.

Improv offers endless opportunities to explore the far reaches of our imagination, but it also offers the possibility of examining the smallest details of real life. Nancy and Scot take this latter approach and place us in the basement of a nameless company and the bingo room in a local retirement home. These locations serve as the familiar backdrop for some unfamiliar characters that leave themselves open and vulnerable to our examination. The affection these two performers have for each other and the trust they place in each other is evident as their deeply-felt creations find surprising ways to connect in scene after scene. There is never a false note, only slices of life where we are invited to eavesdrop on some painful and intimate moments. The feeling that we are not meant to be peeking in on these moments only makes them more entertaining.

The heartfelt character work and honesty in rich with hart are hallmarks of the type of improv iO champions. The characters and scenes they create are almost heartbreaking, but I just kept laughing throughout. This is a great show for everyone who loves the art of improv, as well as everyone who wants to laugh for a solid forty minutes."

Here's what TimeOut Chicago had to say:

Nancy Friedrich and Scot Goodhart grab a significant life moment as their improv inspiration. Not surprisingly, scenes carry an emotional heft and tread delicately around sensitive issues like heartbreak. Both improvisers can clearly drive a scene, but the show's relative formlessness distracts us a bit from fully investing in what's at stake for the characters.
